A Truly “Personalized Experience!”

Jacob and his wife, Jacqueline, are awesome and worked with me in advance to arrange for a great day while in port from a cruise ship. I would highly recommend JJ Divers over any other excursion that you could plan through a cruise ship. I had a dive with Jacob and one other couple and then even had one dive with Jacob alone. I didn't expect a private tour, but you sure can't beat that over a group excursion with many, many people diving all at once! He was very friendly, told me about the island, stopped in "hell" (since I hope to not ever see the real one) and as a very new diver just recently certified, helped me re-acclimate to the open water and get comfortable diving. He made it very easy. Jacqueline also was so responsive as plans were made in advance of arriving on Grand Cayman. What a great couple they are and are living out their dream together on a beautiful island. Very reasonable rates and very accommodating. Definitely check them out when you visit Grand Cayman!

Really Great Experience

I came to grand cayman for a family vacation, me and my sisters really wanted to scubadive so my dad set up a private lesson and dive with JJ Divers. It was so much fun, we actually ended up getting certified. The dives were amazing, and Jacob is a really really great instructor. He taught us everything we needed to know, i felt completely comfortable and safe the entire time. Me and my sisters absolutely loved it. Would recommend to anybody!

Grand Cayman Diving

What a great week we have had! Super calm waters and sea life everywhere!  Turtle's, Rays and YES SHARKS!! Ahhhhhhhhhh!!

We saw about 6 reef sharks yesterday afternoon out on the west side swimming outside of the wall.

Its's always a great day to DIVE GRAND CAYMAN

“Fabulous experience scuba diving in Grand Cayman!”

Jacob and Jacqueline were incredible, and we could not have had a better first-time experience scuba diving! When I spoke to Jacob to arrange our excursion, it was as if we were old friends. He was so easy to talk to and was very helpful. I mentioned to him the day we would be going diving was mine and my husband's 20th wedding anniversary. He made note of this and when we met Jacob and Jacqueline, they surprised us with a "Happy Anniversary" balloon. Afterwards, they took us to a lovely spot for our first adventure with diving. I was a little nervous (to put it mildly), but Jacqueline reassured me and gave me the confidence I needed to go for it! And I did!! Our entire family loved the whole experience and it was really a dream come true. After scuba diving, Jacob and Jacqueline took us to a quaint little restaurant on Seven Mile Beach for a delicious lunch and then we went swimming in the Carribean. Jacob and Jacqueline would not leave us until they were absolutely certain we knew when and how we would be catching a ride back to our ship in plenty of time before our departure. Being in a foreign country doing something we had never done before could have been pretty scary, but Jacob and Jacqueline made sure we had the time of our lives!!! Thanks, you guys, for a wonderful day we will never forget!

Grand Cayman Lion fish

Today's catch ! Lion fish tacos tonight ... Good eating from the easy end of the island.

Lion Fish in the Cayman Islands
About three years ago the first lion fish was spotted in Little Cayman.  Since then, they have grown in numbers and have become a regular sighting on all three islands.  One thing is agreed on, they are here to stay. Although they are a beautiful fish, they don’t belong in the Caribbean and they can devastate a reef system by eating all the baby reef fish. They eat 11,000  each year!  They have incredible appetites,
The Cayman Islands had a quick, direct and well organized response to this invasive species.  The Department of Environment, together with REEF, put together a free and comprehensive awareness and education program.  The course was informative and answered all the questions we had. After all, they look like beautiful fish and none of us wanted to harm them. With this education, we were granted a license to catch the fish.  The idea being, as they have no predators in these waters, we can try to keep the population under control until either we (humans) find an answer, or a local predator is found.

No one knows exactly how they ended up here. The best guess is that the lion fish escaped from an aquarium damaged by a hurricane in Florida.  They have traced the population back to just 6 fish. From that small amount of fish, they have populated the east coast of America from New York to the Caribbean.
JJ Divers is committed to helping promote awareness and preserving our reefs. We are working with the Department of Environment to do our part in keeping the numbers of lion fish under control. Until a natural predator is found, it has to be us.

“One of a kind experience!! Highly recommend!”

I don't think there are enough great things to say about JJ Divers! My husband and I had a blast diving with Jacob while we were in port for the day! I have never been diving before so I was extremely nervous. Jacob made me feel so comfortable and is definitely the person you want as your instructor whether it is your first dive or you're an experienced diver! He is so much fun to be around and very personable. His prices are very affordable and he made the experience personal which is hard to find these days in an excursion! He took us to a beautiful reef, very colorful, lots of fish and we even saw a turtle and sting ray! From the first time I contacted JJ Divers, Jacob and his wife Jacqueline were very attentive and quick to respond. He picked us up right at the port just like we discussed, took us diving, an extra trip over to Hell, and then dropped us at the beach! He made sure to tell us how to get back to the boat and how much a taxi should cost, which was great because the taxi drivers were quoting us $5pp but came down to the $2 Jacob had told us it would cost. If you're thinking about diving on Grand Cayman I highly recommend doing it with JJ Divers as it is a one of a kind experience! We can't wait to go back to the island and experience some other dive spots!
